Why Mechanically Anchored Linings Fail
- Water and H2S are always present behind lining.
- If a breach occurs, rising water level pushes H2S gas out.
- Water level lowers, sucks H2S and O2 behind liner.
- Sulfuric Acid forms, attacks the concrete.
- Concrete becomes Calcium Sulfate (gypsum), crumbles away.
- The lining falls off.
